  14. What type of information does Solona collect when I submit a Captcha?
We retain time stamp information, username information, your IP address. We also keep track of which sighted operator solves which Captchas. That’s it. We do not collect any other data of any kind. The reason for collecting the limited information described herein is to compile response time trends, and to track the demand for Solona services. Suffice to say, we do not collect very much information.

  22. Why does the website reject the code that was provided by the Solona operator?
If the Captcha solution does not work, you can recapture the page and resubmit to Solona. There are a few common reasons for this to happen: 1. the website has a very short time for the Captcha to be solved. MySpace.com is an example of such a site. 2. There is an error on the page, such as the password did not match the minimum complexity criteria, or (if you are registering for a service) maybe your desired username is already taken. Any of these problems could cause you to solve another Captcha. It’s entirely possible that the Captcha is very difficult to solve and it requires another submission to Solona. Face Book Captchas are notorious for being fuzzy and illegible in addition to their short timeout. Google Captchas are made up of letters that can be difficult to distinguish. I hate to say it, but there is a remote chance that the sighted operator fat fingers the code when typing. Although this is very rare, it does happen from time to time. All in all, we solve the Captcha based on what we see.
