SOLONA CAPTCHA SOLUTION SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS USERS

PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended to read these instructions fully before attempting to use the solver service and become familiar with the key strokes. It is also recommended that you try Solona before you really need it! Also, here are some points to keep in mind when using Solona:

  1. It is better to capture AND submit the CAPTCHA image before filling out any fields or information on the web page.  This is for your privacy.
  2. Be sure that your screen reader is in Forms Mode (Jaws) or Browse Mode Off (Window Eyes) if necessary prior to capturing the image that you want to submit.  This helps with screen placement and reduces errors.
  3. Be sure that images are enabled in your browser AND make sure that your browser window is maximized!  This is very important.
  4. Once you complete these steps, which should take less than one minute, you can return to the form to complete the other fields while waiting for the CAPTCHA data to be returned to you.
  5. Please pay attention to the on / off status of Solona.  A live operator is online around 21 hours per day.

The best way to use Solona is to use one of the API-based programs that work with Solona.  API programs enable you to solve Captchas with one or two key strokes.  It is well worth it to use a Solona API program rather than using the Solona website interface.  Having said that, the website is always available for you to use.  It’s just not as fast or efficient.

Currently, for Windows users, the Qwitter Client is available for a fast and reliable Solona API interface.

The Qwitter Client is very easy to learn/use and is very well-documented.  The Solona ’session’ within Qwitter makes it very easy to solve Captchas.  With one key-stroke, you can: capture the image, submit the image, and retrieve the code from Solona.  What more can you ask for!

As more Windows API interfaces are avaible, they will be listed here.

If you are at a public computer, or do not have access to one of the Solona API-based programs, then you can follow these instructions for using the Solona website interface.

WEB SITE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS USERS. Note: you must already have the Solona Automated Tool in order to follow these steps. The tool has it’s own ReadMe file included with the installation. If you don’t have the tool, then download it from the landing page after you login to Solona.

  1. Find the CAPTCHA on the web page that you need to solve. Then, open a new browser tab, or browser window and login to your Solona account.
  2. Return to the original browser tab and use the Solona Automated Capture Tool to snap image.
  3. Return to the Solona browser tab and follow the prompts to upload image
  4. Once you have a confirmation that the image was uploaded successfully, wait about 30 seconds and use the “Refresh Results” button to get code (a few clicks may be required).
  5. Copy and Paste Captcha code into original web page field, or correct issue according to error message sent.
  6. Leave feedback to let Solona know how we did!

Solona is configured so that you may send one CAPTCHA after another if necessary. All you have to do is repeat the steps to capture the image by using the same tool that is located on the same page where you obtain the solution results.

If your image cannot be solved, the sighted operator will send you a descriptive error message so that you can take corrective measures and resubmit the Captcha.  Our objective is to be as descriptive as possible so that you can submit a solvable image.

Note that there is no way to contact an operator. We want as little contact as possible to ensure your privacy and efficiency of the Captcha Solution Service.  Solona will not provide any Captcha solving over the phone or via email/IM.  We do not want to know any personal information about you.  We only convert the CAPTCHA image into text format.
