Linux Instructions for Solona CSS
- Go to the page that has the Captcha to be solved and navigate to the field where you need to enter the solution text.
- Take a screenshot of the Captcha by holding down alt and pressing the print key. This is usually the first key in a row of 3 at the top right of your keyboard. Note that you shouldn’t have to worry about focus, since you navigated in your browser to the Captcha solution field just before taking the screenshot.
- A window will open asking you where you want to save the image and what you want to call it. The first time you use this function, it will by default save on the desktop. This is fine, since you will be deleting the image later anyway, and it makes it very easy to find. The default name of the image is Screenshot-
.png, where is the text in the title bar of the current window, unless there is already a file with that name, in which case, will be followed by a hyphen, (-) and a number, for example Screenshot-My Site – Mozilla Firefox-1.png
or
Screenshot-My Site – Mozilla Firefox-2.png.
Notice that having the window title in the file name will also help you ensure that the correct window was focused when you took the screenshot. Unless you have a need to change this name, you can keep it as it is, but be sure to take note of the exact name and location so you can find it.
- Open a new tab in your browser and go to www.solona.net. Select “Login/Register” and login to your account.
- Select “Submit a Captcha” Then browse to your image file and upload it by pressing “Send Image”.
- You will be presented with a page that includes a text field where the Captcha solution will appear. Wait about 15 to 20 seconds and press the “Refresh Result” button every few seconds thereafter until the solution is spoken. Please do not use the control-r key to reload this page, because it will try to resend your image.
- Copy the solution, which is selected automatically, into the clipboard and switch to the tab that contains the form that requires the Captcha solution. Paste the solution into the appropriate field and submit your completed form.
- Be sure to delete the image file that you sent. You shouldn’t need it once you send it.
- Be sure to leave feedback to indicate whether or not the Captcha solution works.
